Created in 1907, at the initiative of a group of local traders, the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce has since evolved in its Statutes to become in 2002, thanks to the latest reforms, the representative institution of the private sector nationwide. Thus, all sectors of economic activity are represented in the deliberative body, the General Assembly, which has forty four elected members.
