Created in 1947, the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts is the national employers' center. It brings together the professional structures of the different non-agricultural economic sectors (Industry, Commerce, Services, Crafts and Small Trades).
UTICA represents nearly 150,000 private companies from all sectors of activity (with the exception of Tourism and the banking and financial sector). The bulk of these member companies are small and medium-sized enterprises. UTICA has more than 25,000 union leaders.
UTICA's mission revolves around actions aimed at promoting and energizing the private sector, while being the spokesperson for companies with the public authorities.
