Supporting Economic Demand-Driven Steering of Training

Within the global framework aiming at transforming the Regional Training Center for Road Maintenance (CERFER) in a pole of excellence responding effectively to the labor market skills needs, the African Development Fund finances a project (PAIF) to support the integration of training in road, railway and mining trades within the member countries of the Agreement Council. IIEP-UNESCO is one of the technical partner for this project.
In order to strengthen the capacity of its research officers, the National Employment and Training Observatory (ONEF) of Mali signed a partnership agreement in 2018 with IIEP-UNESCO Dakar. The objective was to design and conduct a satisfaction survey of employers of graduates of Vocational Training Centers.
Diagnoses of obstacles were carried out in Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Senegal between December 2015 and July 2016, through the prism of PEFOP’s five strategic axes. The combined analysis of the results obtained in these three countries highlights several similarities for each axis.
